So at my clubs frag swap Saturday i picked up this sps and im not sure the of the species and its common name as well. traded some zoanthids was a good trade lol heres the pic
Looks like a pocillopora almost, with the PE you have going on, and the coloration. If you agitate the water, and make the polyps retract, does it have the small sharp white points that are on the leading calcifying edges of a birdsnest colony?
Also, the polyps dont seem to follow a straight line, the way they do in most birdsnest colonies I've seen...
It's really hard to say, because the colony structure isn't very evident yet. It looks like it has green fluorescent protein and cyan fluorescent protein in the polyps. I don't see the GFP on the stem, which makes it seem less like a green slimer acropora.
My guess would be pocillopora damicornis or a green morph of stylophora pistillata.
