Frag Swap Set Up

Reefing On My Mind
Team RC
Ok guys, lets talk about when we're going to set up...

I'm thinking Friday night 6pm-7pm... We have to set up Tables and whatnot... If you're wanting to set up a tank on Friday night and you're not there by 7pm, you're SOL... We have a long day on Saturday, and can't wait around all night...

Saturday morning get there about 9:30 or so... Let people in to set up their tanks and whatnot between 10 and 12 before the official start time...

These are my ideas... LMK if that will work, or if there are any objections... Hopefully Eddie will chime in and let us know if this will work with the Church's schedule as well...

I can't remember who our setup volunteers are, so if you're out there and reading this... You need to holler... ;)

i'll be there in the morning to help set up and probably stay all day.

rev, i'm not an expert on that end of town, but i don't think there are any hotels right around the church. i know there are a bunch off of cedar bluff exit which isn't too far. you'd be welcome to just stay with us, but we're a good ways out of town...

Hey guys what is the closet hotel to the swap location?

I would say anywhere off of Cedar Bluff, or in between Lovell and Campbell Station in the Turkey Creek Shopping center would be closest... You coming up Friday night???

Randy, I haven't volunteered for it but I can come help set up on Friday night. I wouldn't say that I could lift a ton of tables by myself but I can help out with anything else. I could lift tables with someone helping me. I might be able to con Nathan into coming to help but he's usually busy on Friday nights tuning someone else's (or his) motorcycle.

As far as Saturday goes...I am going to be at the swap. I'm gonna come early to help set up the kitchen (get cheese dip going) then I think I need to help Matt with the SA/CR booth. Kim said she'd take over kitchen duty with Ashley and Eddie for me.

Eddie are we going to have that big crockpot like last year?

I can cook the meat the night before and bring it down then put the dip together once I'm there, in that big crockpot. Should I buy the cheese dip stuff and get reimbursed? Last year I just bought it. I don't mind if someone else buys it but I just need to get it into my hands by Friday night (I could pick up the meat at the swap setup on Friday night).

Someone needs to buy a ton of chips though.

I left the list of "already volunteered" volunteers at home. Will post it tonight or tomorrow. Not really. If you volunteered, please come help. Don't think other will. To much help will be ok. We need to start a 6 pm and be almost finished by 7, at least with the noise producing stuff. If you are coming from out of town and want to set up Friday night and cannot be here before 7, LMK. I can stay later than 7pm.

I will be at the church at 7:30am on Saturday. I had not planned to open the area for Sat-morning-swap-business until about 9am. LMK if you need in before 9.

If you still plan to help during the swap, LMK what times especially the registration table and raffle ticket table. Times for the tables -- start at 11:30 until about 3:30 - 30 to 60 minute increments.

If you volunteered to prepare and sell food, LMK that you can still come/help.

Olivia and I were gonna show up at 2 p.m.
Olivia was gonna help sell raffle tickets and I was gonna help man the club table and sell and bag stuff.
If I could be more help elsewhere, LMK.
Just keep in mind that I'll 3yo and 6yo boys with me and you might not want them in the kitchen if I'm working there.
Whateva tho, just LMK.
Also, I'm bringing the light fixture for the club tank, which I guess means I need to get it to someone before Saturday.
Not quite sure how to work that out, thinking, thinking....

Mel, I was composing my post when you snuck your post in. I feel I must use speel check before I post my posts. Even then I thpe in stuff that make know sence. You are down for cheese dip. If you will PM me and include the stuff to buy, I will buy it with my stuff. Is the meat you are going to cook, hamburger? If so, tell me how much to buy for you and I will include it in with the hamburger that I buy for hamburgers and bring it to you on Friday night -- cooked. Do you have a crock pot?

Eddie...I need like 5lb ground beef on Friday night but I need it uncooked. I'll PM you what else I need.

Oh and I can't stay to clean up like last year. I have to immediately run back to the store to help Abby who will be mostly alone.

I actually only need about 3-4 pounds of ground beef Eddie, but it's usually cheaper to get one of those 5 pound tubes of it than smaller amounts. If you guys are divvying it up from larger amounts then I only need about 3-4 pounds.

Well the cheese dip planning is very important to me.

Everyone better be prepared to eat a ton of it because I'm going to earn my title as "Official Cheese Dip Pusher".

My oldest will be happy to snarf your cheese dip.
Can't tell bout Lil Dude. :)
I'll snarf as long as I'm not helping ppl.

i have a great big crock pot, a smaller crock pot and a slower cooker i can bring. let me know if you need it mel...i'll probably be there early saturday.

i can also take a turn at the raffle/sign in table, but i don't wanna be first. :)

I'll bring the ETRC tank setup (20L w/powerhead, heater, light, eggcrate, glasstop, and about 10g of water - trivia: did you know that a 20L only holds 16g?) the night before and will help set up tables and whatever else.

Weetz, an extra light would be great, the 2x18w I have doesn't have much kick.

I'll help the following morning from 10 on, but would prefer to have nothing to do with food or raffling.
