Frag Swap Volunteers

Reefing On My Mind
Team RC
Ok, so we spoke about this at the meeting... We are going to need some volunteers for the Frag Swap and we're trying to get an idea of who wants to help and where...

We are needing a couple of people to get some signs up in area pet stores...

We need help with contacting Vendors for donations... If there is someone that uses a particular vendor frequently, please volunteer to contact that vendor... It will not do much good for me to contact someone I've never bought from nor plan on buying from... :D

We will need probably 4-6 people to help set up tables/chairs/electricity the night before...

We will need a few people there a couple hours before the swap to help with those coming in out of town to set up their tables, just pointing them where they need to be and anything they might need

We will need three people at the entrance throughout the swap.... One person to greet and sign in... One person to take money for raffle tickets... The last to distribute raffle tickets... I would like to do this in shifts... So we'd need a total of 12 volunteers here so that everyone would be pulling an hour shift... The greatest times of need will be in the first hour or two... As we get into the swap there will be less people at the door... If we have the raffle at 3:00-3:30, people usually exit fast afterwards...

If we decide to do a concessions area we will need volunteers for that as well... 2 people per shift at least...

We will also need as many people as possible to help clean up... The more people we have, the faster we can get it done... This is Eddie's church and if everything goes favorably, we'd like to use this again in years to come... Everyone will be tired from a long exciting day and want to rush home and get their new aquisitions in their tanks, but we need everyone to help out...

LMK if I forgot anything...

The Board of Directors is working hard on this for you guys, but we need your support in order to make this happen as best as it can...

Thanks,
Randy

i can pass out flyers this way...sevierville, maybe morristown? are flyers made up yet? i can also do a shift distributing raffle tickets...as long as its not the first hour. i've never been to one before and it would probably kill me to not to get to check it out first! and i can help with the cleanup too.

I can help the night before - maybe the morning of.

I can do a 1hr shift at the entrance (we may not need 3 people after the first hour - maybe 2 in second hour and 1 in 3rd and 4th)

I'll help with clean-up.

Can we have some fliers printed up for distribution at the April or May meeting?

I'm going to post more comments on our web site.

If I am in town, I will be glad to volunteer for anything. All depends on who is going to pay me the big bucks for my internship and for how long. Won't know till April.

I am happy to help with clean up and anything in the "middle" hours. I'll be busy shopping for the tank the first and last hour :D . I can also come the night before if needed and early the day of the swap.

Of course I'll working on the flyer deal:)
I'll also be happy to help the night before and to work a shift, preferably a later one (I'm sure everyone will want a later one though) at the swap.
I probably won't be able to make it early because of the baby sitting/bagging coral thingy but I should be able to stay late and help clean if my pre-sales pay for the babysitter:D

When is the approx date for the frag swap?

Count me in for anything. BTW, Eddie and I go to the same church. So I know the layout of the church pretty well also.

Looks like I cannot make it to the swap. the vet school in missouri just made me a nice offer to come work for 9 weeks. It's still early-- I may just tell them I need to leave that week or something. June 14th right.

Too close to our 20 year anniversary, so we'll likely be out of town and don't want to commit to anything.

It probably could if I wanted one. An exotic trip is more likely in order, though. PM me if anyone has any suggestions, I don't want to hijack Randy's thread.

I am making a list. Yes, and checking it twice. The Volunteer list for the swap is growing. The list now contains 10 folks. Randy, Art, and David S. your names were added as a default function. :)

Thanks to those who have volunteered so far!!

You other ETRC members need to check the calender. It would really be great if we had more help than was needed. Some will, of course, have family or work conflicts, but if we can generate some excitement about this among ourselves, maybe the excitement can spread to other reefers far and near.

Randy either let me volunteer to be in charge of concessions, assigned me to be in charge of concessions, or I volunteered. Either way, we are planning to have food and sodas/water. If you want to help with that, you will be welcomed. Mel, a giant vat of cheese dip, huh. Kathy and I have thought of that. One problem is keeping it hot but not rubbery. Please PM me if you folks have food suggestions. We are waiting until we get a little closer to finalize a menu. I would like to have a little better idea of how many people we “might” have coming, since menus mean spending $$$.

You can add me to the volunteer list for an hour at the entrance. And probably something in another area when the time draws near. I might have a conflict that weekend, but I'll let you know time draws near.

I will show up on Sat. morning to help and will man the front doors for a while and clean up afterwards. Basically I can be a floater most of the day.

Looks like I'll be there Saturday morning and you should already have me down for an hour at the door. Hopefully my kids won't dismantle the place while I am not looking. :)
