Frag tank plumbing question

I'm picking up 2 of the zoo med low boy frag tanks, dimensions are 48"x24"x10".

Can I plumb them both together with a couple 2" or 2.5" Bulkheads and a short piece of pvc, or even just a couple uniseals, and set the drain up on one end and plumb the return on the other? Basically just make a long 8 ft tank out of them to minimize on the plumbing to run the both of them.

Yes I would do (2) 2" bulkheads with straight pvc in between them. Don't use uniseals on glass. Another option is to stack the tanks if you have the available height and have them cascade the flow from top to bottom.

Thanks for the input. The cascading idea is something that I will look into. With the height of the tanks I was planning on doing a 36" high stand and I might be able to mock up a couple plans with them stacked on top of each other. Only issue is the lower tank may be a little too low once I figure in the height needed to hang lighting and have room to work in there.

Why not just make a long bench and at 3 or 4 inches of height to one end of the bench and have one tank sitting higher?

Thoughts like this are why sometimes it is great to ask questions haha. Total "why didn't I think of that?" comment.
