Frag Tank Return Q

Im planning on adding a 30 gallon frag tank to my existing 50 gallon cube.

Should I add another pump to the sump or get a bigger return and run both tanks off one pump?

either is an option, just depends on what you want. Me personally I would go with one pump Teed off with valves so you can control the flow to each but I like minimal equipment. Down side is if that pump ever gave you trouble both tanks are down not just one.

As I stated I would rather run a single pump, but if I did I would have a slighty smaller pump on hand that i would use for water mixing and water changes that could be switched in to the main pump if it were to fail. I say slightly smaller as to save a bit on money and it would be just needed to keep the systems running while the main pump either gets repaired or replaced.
