I got my 55 changed over from freshwater angelfish to a frag tank.
I have most of my zoos in it for now recovering from a nudi outbreak ...But doing well now after some some FW dips.

I also got a few cuttings of leather, xiena and green fuzzy shrooms im planning to have available for the next meeting!

Awsome setup! I like it. Some day in the future I would like to setup a frag tank, and I like the design of yours, having two shelves and the bottom on which to put frags, really cool. :)

Nice rack! Really. I may have to copy you.

I have a 75 G I've been struggling with.

Are your legs just cut off, or did you you silicone to the bottom, to make it more stable?

Cool Setup...I'm nearly ready to go with a 40 gal frag tank and have been pondering rack ideas. I think I'll do it just like yours.

The first prop tank I set up I did the shelf thing out of plastic grid, only problem I had was that the snails I had in there to keep things clean would knock around the smaller frags and I am constantly moving them back where they belong. If your rocks are large enough that wont be an issue for you, just thought I would mention it.

WOW! I'm flattered by the comments:D, I just put it together without any plans....just a vision in my head that seemed to come together
Many thanks!

Anyway its made with 1/2 pvc and eggcrate all from home depot, It done with all 90s and T's. I built it in two parts and assembled them together inside the tank due to the size...Got lucky and it fit

its not silicone in just set in there and Its very stable in fact, mainly do because the Whisper 60 intake tube is kind of wedged over the 1/2" pvc pipe holding it tight to the back of the tank on the left side and the weight of the powerhead for the skimmer holding it down on the right side. I drilled holes in the pipe in several places to allow the air out so it wouldn't want to float

Anybody that wants help making one or wants some more pics let me know.

I'm getting now to the point that I'm going to have to start a cleanup crew due to some algae growth but not to bad....will see. I have a hard time keeping the PH up probably due the lack of like rock...I keep adding kalk to keep it up and its seems like its somewhat stabilizing.

My Zoos are making a huge comeback and seem to really enjoy the environment and I'm even starting to get some growth!

I am planning to attend the meeting on Saturday and will have some stuff available..I have 1 green fuzzy mushroom with a couple brown buttons on the rock. 5 stalks of Xenia, 3 zoo frags with about 5 heads on them and 8-9stalks of some unidentified leather. If anyones is interested I can post or email some pics.

P.S.
Im interested in any rubble rock if anyone has any!

A few years back I was gifted a stack of reef timber parts by a pet store that was just trying to get rid of them. They are pretty handy items to use with standard eggcrate. If any body is interested in seeing them or possibly working a little trade let me know.

I think they were discontinued wern't they jandlms? I searched the net and could only find a review.

Since you have them, do they look like something someone could fab easily?

I dredged this tread up because I thought there was a pic of Firebirds frag rack... oh well, now that I found it... I made my year end goal with a little time to spare. My frag tank is setup, and the filter is moved underneath it, and the 30 gallon is shut down... and the HUGE maroon has been transplanted... Enjoy.

Nice, the self portrait on the overflow was a bit much though!

Just purchased a sheet of eggcrate, 10' of 1/2 cpvc, T's and 90s from Menard's today. Huh, great minds just might think alike?

Scott, I snapped the pictures so fast, then ran upstairs to check on the kid, I did not take time to do it correctly... I thought that picture was better that this one..

Fred, All my Maroons Like coffee. Cups that is. Color seems to be everything. While blue is good, black is not. But dark blue... look out. This pair did NOT have a cup in their tank yesterday. Look at their fondness today.

Check out the pic in my galery of the shark, clowns and the coffee cup. I had/have pairs that will draw blood if you try to remove it at the wrong time of the month. Can't understand why I don't have any breeding success.

The egg crate really does not bow like that... it's the lens on the camera playing tricks.

Barrel distortion is a lens effect that causes pictures to be spherised(sp?) or "inflated". Barrel distortion is associated with wide-angle lenses and occurs at the wide end of a zoom lens.

Sorry I'm a photo nerd.

Happy New Year!

Wow, that was a spooky clear reflection. Looks like you inserted the pipe through the eggcrate and used a coupler to support the down force and a cap to hold things down. Haven't seen that method as of yet. Prob. 'U' fame mine.

Nice little setup. Did this replace the back to back tank setup you had?

10 less cinder blocks in Green Bay Fred.
