Frag tray dried out..I'm lucky!!!

O.K....I have a 100gal rubbermaid sump which also houses my frag tray which is half the sump and my skimmer.Well my skimmer drains into a 5gal bucket on the side of my sump. For some reason my skimmer decided to go ape $h*T last night and overflow about 30 gal of water into the bucket and onto the floor exposing my frag tray to air.Luckily I get up at 5:30 am every morning and happened to go downstairs and notice this. When I found them they were totaly exposed with no water on them, but they weren't dried out,so this tells me they weren't exposed too long.Anyway ,I dropped them into the bottom of my sump and turned the lights on and in minutes they started to open up.I have aroun 50 very nice zoa frags which I've collected over some time and would of been devistated if I had lost them. How long can zoa's last out of water.I really don't want to put that to a test again..LOL.

they should bounce back esp if they were still a little wet when you saved them... I've left zoas for hours when fragging... give 'em some time and keep us posted... :)

I've seen many a zoo exposed everyday at low tide in full blazing subtropical sun. they stay open and full of water and then slowly ooze it out to stay hydrated until the tide comes in.

THANX FOR THE CONCERN GUYS.ANYWAY,I JUST GOT HOME AND FILLED MY SUMP BACK UP AND THE ZOA'S ARE DOING FINE.BESIDES,THIS WAS PROBABLY THE ONLY WAY TO GET MY LAZY ARSE TO DO A WATER CHANGE..LOL
