Speaking of Dim sum, know of any good dim sum places, my favorite place Sam Woo in San Gabriel closed down. :(

Where are you coming from? I didn't know that Sam Woo closed. Is that the one on Del Mar and Valley? Didn't think they could close that place except by burning it down. A couple of good places in Monterey Park is NBC Seafood and Ocean something, both on Atlantic. My favorites are either Hong Kong Palace or Sam Woo in Rowland Heights.

I am coming from Beaumont. We head over to San Gabriel/Monteray Park/Puente Hills all the time to eat. Yeah they closed, they didn't want to renew their lease or something from what I was told.

Where is the Hong Kong Palace and Sam Woo in Rowland Heights?

Man, you are a total banana

LOL....this is coming from someone who eats tapas!:D

You can't go wrong with Empress Pavilion in C-town for dim sum. You just need to set aside a couple of hours if you go on the weekends.

Man, Beaumont? I thought I was living at the edge of civilization

Sam Woo is on Gale near Nogales just north of the 60. It's a PITA to get to b/c of the left turn there. As you know, Chinese people can't drive

Hong Kong Palace is on Colima just east of Nogales, same exit off the 60. It's near a 99 Cent store. Free standing building. Parking is much better but seems to have the longer lines. Which usually means it's better. We only wait in long lines if the food is good.

Hey, I like to eat good food. So anything goes :D

It seems like Empress Pavillion has been there forever. I used to make weekend food runs to Chinatown when I was at UCLA and Empress was a favorite.

Kenny - When was the last time you were at the Sam Woo in Rowland Heights? My brother said they closed down recently.

I just went for dim sum at this new place called The Kitchen (I know... that's a strange name for a Chinese restaurant) on Valley near the corner of Garfield across the street from Noodle World. It was actually not too bad and the prices were very reasonable.

Kelly, I haven't actually gone to that Sam Woo in a few months. I usually go to Hong Kong Palace b/c I think it's better, although a little bit more expensive. Haven't eaten in Monterey Park in a very long time. NBC Seafood always had good dim sum and the prices were pretty good.

Now I remember that other one in MP. It's called Ocean Star.

Thanks. Lol, yeah tell me about it. There is nothing really out this way. At least when I lived in Redlands there were more food places.

Lol, don't forget if there is a sale.
