fragging paly's - can't get them to attach

I have pink paly's all over the place, so a few weeks ago I decided to frag a bunch and let them attach to some crushed coral to make it easier to separate and sell. I don't have a dedicated frag tank, so I bought a small poly pencil box, cut off the lid, attached a mag float and stuck it inside my display. I layered the bottom of the box with crushed coral, and set the freshly cut paly's inside.

Well this didn't work one bit. I have so much flow in the display tank that there were paly frags everywhere. After I cleaned up the mess, put a layer of window screen on top of the box and attached it with a rubber band. That was 4 weeks ago. I checked this morning and nothing has attached to the crushed coral yet. Anyone have a better idea on how I can do this?

Thanks,

did you cut just the to of the paly s or tword the base if you cut the top it is becuse they need to really regrow to the base

They were really into the rubble they were attached to. I was able to salvage most of their stalk, but I was not able to peel their base from the rock.

Bridal mesh or similar netting might work. It does for mushrooms. Wrap them to a rock and hold the mesh in place with a rubberband. Wait a week or two.

superglue palys or zoas. mushrooms produce a film/slime which makes superglue not an effective option.
