i have this large monti cap. thats encrusted on to the rocks its sitting on, i was thinking about taking some frags off the outter edge of it, what would be a good way to do this w/o having to move the coral.

also i have a small frag that just broke off one day and i have a little rock that i sit it on but it keeps getting blown off what would be a good way to stick it to its rock?

thx

Since it's attached to a large rock, you can't use anythiing like a dremel tool to it, so just snapping pieces off will do just fine. Where you take them from really depends on the specimen, and whether you're OK with pieces taken from the front or viewing side.

If the piece you've already broken off feels slimy underneath, and your the patient type, you can rubberband it to a smaller piece of rock. In time, it will attach just like the parent. The much faster way is to use gel super glue. There's tons of threads in the propogation forum, some with pics. Stay away from epoxies as they irritate the coral tissue they touch, and your results may not be what they should. hth
