Frags at AC

I was at AC the other night and they had some acro frags. $10 for small and $15 for medium. Both was very nice sizes. The $15 dollar one I picked up had 2 pieces around 2" with multiple branches (almost like a mini-colony, especially in my 20). Figured it wouldnt hurt to try a first acro since it was only $15. They had 2 different kinds...same price. Also had zoa frags for $19.99. Couldnt really tell the colors. These was in the new frag tank.

I was a contributor to AC today. Not those acros, but I did drop off 8 Xenia frags and two others, one bieng a small Elkhorn. Got some nice store credit for my wares. got me a HUGE flat brain, some drygoods and a Citron Goby. I am such a sucker for cute little fish! So, if you get any of that xenia from them, it is mine. freshly cut from my forest. I talked with Chris on tuesday I think and he seemed to give me the impression they are going to use that zero edge tank for frags from local tanks. there were some zoos, shrooms, and acros, and some very nice blue clams too. the frags were priced close to swap pricing. and the xenia I added.

I add Xenia ever so often as well.

It was so funny. I got rid of about 15-20 stalks. I had 8 rocks with attaches (rubberband), and you can barely tell I even thinned it out. gave them less than 1/4 of my forest. How do you frag yours? I had a few loose ones and some I was able to peel off hte rock. the Others I sliced off at the rock with a razor. What kind do you supply? mine are the Hot pink long stringy wavy kind. Love current. They have those nice fancy lights on that tank, but truthfully, they coloration was WAY better in my tank. same with that brain I got. it was pretty in theirs under just the halides, but in mine WOW talk about color..

i went up there again today.....try to decide which snakes I want. The frag tank was real cloudy. Thise acros are priced good. I could see there was some xenia in there. Still cant see what color the zoas are. It was so cloudy didnt even see the elkhorn. Was it a nice size one. Id like a frag of that next time you have some to spare.

yea, it was very cloudy when I was ther both times today. it was a piece maybe an inch by an inch. just a piece I knocked off the other day. That elk grows like mad. let me ger my new bulbs in and wait about a month and then I will most likely break it off again. I do have some loose pieces, but waiting for them to reattach to the mother.

I rubberband them to rubble until they attach, but if you're selling them unattached, I may change my process.....that's the biggest pain, getting them to attach!

Man, I just cut them 20 mins before I brought them to AC. they even gave me rubble and bands! said he could really use some...

i saw those xenia in the frag tank today....and they looked really skinny....and were priced at $25.....are they really going for that much?

They are still adjusting to a new tank....some are adjusting to being 'rubberbanded' to a new rock. All of mine look like that for a day or two.

Usually, I see them sale for $5 a stalk (unmounted) and $10 mounted. Gsus, I think my brother is takin' a rock covered in pink xenia. Its larger than a softball I believe and the stalks are huge. Would probably be too big for your tank though. He has a 80 bow.

Steve

im not in need of any....i actually have 2 very large stalks that i got a while back that were attached to a rocked that weighted 4 lbs.....and they are about the size of a softball

FWIW....
AC will not take unmounted Xenia...geesh, now I've got 10 or so pieces that I've got to mount to rocks.
Actually, I'm trying a new method for attaching. I filled a breeder basket with rubble and dumped them in there. Here's hoping that it works.

If you have the time it works quite well. You may not get a nice neat 1 per rock, but its a lot easier than other methods.
