I will change out my gfo and carbon this weekend. I have a hanna phosphate meter that I haven't took out of the packaging yet, I'll try to get a reading off of it. I'll also trim my chaeto out. Good tip on the ro, I need to check that too.

You better do. I'd been for awhile fooled by Salifert test kit on my PO4 value. After had stopped replacing the exhausted GFO for more than 2months my SPS browning. It always showed very low even near undetechable color in the vial even the expiry end in Dec 2012. But when things get browning I asked a friend to check thru hanna photometer and it registered 0.1!!!
Now after running about 5 days color have picking up at the tips. JHME lately.
