Franky's Macro Shots

Well, I know where im going shopping. When i return Franky ill see ya soon! lol I kid i kid, gonna be a while..... Great pictures man, and your systems is looking great my friend.

Ha ha ha anytime Eric. I've thought about top down shots but with my canopy I would have to disassemble my whole tank to get in there lol. Maybe one day

Let me know size of the box and I'll see what I can do when I get home. I picked up needles and Weldon recently so I just need to go buy material.

i was thinking of getting like a 4" diameter PVC pipe about 8" long and gluing a square 5" piece of acrylic at the viewing end, unless you can cut the acrylic in a circle to fit the pvc exactly and maybe add some thumb screws to hold the pvc tube on the camera lens. What do ya think lol

lol that sounds mad ghetto... i got you dude, Keep taking badass pics, and let me handle the hardware.

You want 4" diam Tube right? will just need to know how much of a difference there is between the base of the cam and the base of the lense to make sure it fits nice.

I can make it all out of acrylic for you, in the process of building a CNC machine for all my other hobbies too so i know i can make you some other goodies as well ;).

You have a frag tank setup down in the sump yet?

I knew you would eventually, it was too perfect not to lol.... hopefully all my babies are in there ;), or will be in there nice and healed by the time im ready hehehe.

nice bro beautiful photo!

To get the black backgrounds you're using a flash, right? I'm assuming it's an external flash. How are you avoiding reflections? Can you explain the technique, or point me somewhere I can read about it? How about taking a picture of yourself taking a picture :)

I've been trying to figure it out myself, but I'm mostly spinning my wheels. I don't want to buy a flash until I understand how the whole the works.

Thanks!

Yes and no you can achieve the black background using both flash and no flash it's a matter of playing with your shutter speed and aperture. I'm still learning so I think you would be better off asking the pros like misled jroovers and Aaron
