Freaked out Mileagris

Picked up a very nice looking lady leopard yesterday and put her in QT. She is the most freaked out and stressed looking new fish I have ever had. Only 18 hrs in my care. Has spent half her time in the small sand tray and the other half trying to hide between PVC pipes. I say try because only her head is hidden. Keep your fingers crossed for her. I think she needs it:headwallblue:.

they are hard to keep. who else is in the QT? how large is it? whats the filtration like? any meds? how big is she, and the container(depth too) is she eating if so what, if not what are you feeding?

She is looking better today. Staying out but not eating. Had been eating frozen mysis and brine at the LFS. The QT is 40 gallons and has 5 other fish in it, all nonaggresive. No one is picking on her at all. The sand bed is fine and 2 inches deep. Tank is being treated with Cupramine 5PPM. Have tried the same frozen foods as well as cyclopeeze. It is hard to resist putting her in the 110 gallon DT that is loaded with pods and foraminaforans but I have learned the hard way that is an eventual path to heartache. Gotta get her eating but more optimistic today. Will call around to see if any LFS has some small live foods.

When I first got mine about two years ago it dove right into the sand, but came out the next day. It swam all over the tank iradically for three days ignoring all foods before it settled in and started eating....

She lost the battle. Never did eat. Will try again when I find one or preferably 3 MM or Bipartus that I can see eating vigorously at the LFS.
