Hi everyone,

Just found out I'm going on a long business trip, around 5 months for training :uhoh3:
Looking for tips to keep the tank alive, my mom and sister will be in the house taking over...

Tank details:
125 gal
sump with 2000SRO, GFO, chaeto
mixed reef, SPS LPS softs
98 LED DIY lighting fixture
3x dosing pumps (vodka, Ca, KH)
auto 5gal topoff unit

I guess Im freaking out, any tips or hints to hand over the tank?
Thanks!:hmm4:

no controller?

you are toast without one.

write up an if/then instruction list.

suggest you have a local reefer buddy stop by once a month for a welfare checkup and waterchange.

i'd have someone coral sit if you have SPS, leave the softies in the tank.

I agree. Someone one to coral sit your prized SPS would be a must for me at the very least.

I feel for you! I'm going to visit the in laws for 3 days and i'm freaking out, nothing compared to 5 months...agree with the others, find someone that is knowledgeable and you trust to stop by...good luck!

5 months is a very long time. Take the time now to train your mom and sister as much as possible and use skype with video to communicate so you can guide them. If possible to a have a SW buddy to swing by and check up or the other option is to hire a LFS that provide onsite service to stop by as needed or once while like once every 2 weeks or what ever works for you.
