Okay for you long time reefers I am not giving away any Sunny d's or tubbs or any other $100 per polyps so don't get excited. This is really for new comers and nothing that would exite you anyway.
Okay, I want to clear out a few items in my frag tank after scoring some great corals from Chris. For any West Tennessee Chapter RC members I will give you a free frag of green star polyp, Kenya tree, pom-pom and xenia if you are interested. We have several new members just starting out and I know when you have a new tank it looks empty until you have a bunch of corals and they can be expensive. I have 3 to 6 frags of each so first come, first serve. If there is than one person interested I will limit to one of each frag.
I would consider these all beginner corals. They can also be considered invasive and you should keep that in mind. In other words they can multiply and take over your tank if you don't keep an eye on them and keep them in check. You can do that by putting them on a decent size rock that will allow them to expand, but not one that you cannot easily take out and prune. In other words, you dont' want to have it attach to a base rock on the bottom that requires you to take out other rocks to get to it.....because I am strongly betting you won't. So visualize how large of a presense you want it to have in your tank and that should be the size rock you put it on.
Once you have mastered these basic corals you will find you want to move beyond these basic ones and hopefully you will pass them along. I hope to have success with propogating some zoa's, rics, mushrooms, etc that are much more exciting in the near future.......
