I have these little guys all of my tank - thousands. Most threads on hydroids focus on colonial species, but my issue is the free-floating variety. Some say you need to tear down the tank, others say they will go away on their own. My question is, which is it? My 130G system is about 4 months old. Am I better off tearing it down and starting over, or should I just wait it out?

All parameters are well within normal range:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5ppm
Ca: 400
Mg: 1300
pH: 8.2
Alk: 4.5 meq/L
The DT is running fallow for the next 7 weeks, as the same ball of chaeto that brought in they hydroids, also gifted me with ich. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
