free gonipora to good home

I have one of the red/purple gonipora and i have had him for a good 4 months and i am just not giving it a good enough environment b/c he has not been doing to good lately.

I am just not getting him enough food his size. I am not running a skimmer at the moment and cannot get enough food to him without fouling up the tank. I was hoping he would be ok till i got my new tank setup where i could get him in the best location and feed him more but i do not want to let him get any worse.

So if anyone thinks they can give him better care please let me know and you can come pick him up i do not want to kill him.

Please only respond if you can give it the attention it needs.

Thanks

Are you using cyclop-eeze? If not get some and just put a smal pinch in every 3 or 4 days. Be sure and disolve it down and not just put it in the water. He will perk right up.

Thanks guys i have tried the cyclopeeze i just don't know if i am adding enough or what.

I think Jy544 is going to save him for me.

I really don't want to kill it. I have had a great track record with this tank and have not lost any coral in the 9 months that it has been up except for a sick torch that I got from a vendor. I feel by killing something that was taken from its home is just the worst thing possible especially to negligence.

Thanks for all the help and info guys.

The secret to the cyclop-eeze is to take a cup of water out of the take and dissolve it real good and then pour that back in the tank. It should look like dirty water rather than food. That way the particles are small enough for the fine filter feeders.

I would recommend trying Microvore diet by brightwell aquatics. ALL of my LPS love it but its small enough copepods and sps seem to really extend their polyps to get, too.

Im using the microvore too on my sps tank. They seem to love it and growth and colors are doing better than before i fed this food.... well it seems so anyway.

Where can i get the Microvore?

I think part of my problem is the flow in the tank doesn't help get the gonipora the small particles but the tank is so full i have no where to move it where it could do better.

Here is a couple month old pic everything is even more filled in now, 2 of the 3 anemones have been sold but no room until the new tank.

Nice tank. It is indeed full. I wouldnt do the microvore until you get your new tank especially if you are running skimmer-less. It has amino acids and seems pretty dense so I would worry it would foul your water quicker than regular food. I got my bottle at SITC I think WWC sells brightwell aquatics products too. Like I said I use it for my SPS. There might be a more suitable food for LPS out there though I would assume they would eat it too.
