Free Mandarin Dragonet

I've had a mandarin in my 40 gallon reef assisting in the elimination of zoa eating amphipods. Unfortunately I noticed on my little radiata lionfish a speck of ich. As a result I'm taking the fish out of my display tank and into a quarantine tank for hyposalinity.

Seeing as the mandarin will not have any amphipods to eat in there I'm offering it for free to any one who would put it in an aquarium where it can thrive. The obvious catch is that you would have to quarantine it as it probably would be carrying a little bit of ich. Otherwise it is healthy, I don't see any signs of it being bothered by the ich.

I'm located in Palos Heights, if you have a frag of something I'd be glad to take it. Otherwise you can take the fish off my hands.

PM me or shoot me a text at 708-860-1984.

No worries about mandarins with ich. They actually have a slime coat that makes them not susceptible to ich at all...

Is yours a male or female? Is the first dorsal fin spiney and large or just smaller? I have a mandarin right now that would love a mate in our 150G.. Plenty of pods. :-)

Wow! That's very interesting.

I'm not sure if it's a male or female honestly. I would have to say the dorsal fin is more spiny.

Unfortunately the mandarin is spoken for, I apologize. If it falls through I'll let you know though!

Good luck, thanks! Ours does NOT have that elongated spine so would be a good match from what I understand.
