Free panther grouper

I didn't want this fish to start with but I have him. He is about 7" long and I can't keep him anymore. Everyone I know has reef tanks so no luck there. I tried my LFS and they said try here. He would be a fantastic addition to a FO tank as he is tame and eats from my hand but, his size is becoming an issue. Somebody please help.

He would do fine in that tank for a while Mike .. ... He will grow much larger though ... Panther groupers get very large ... but they are beautiful fish .... . but I am not positive about keeping them with Anemones ... I believe you have one in that tank correct? .. I would check that and other than the size issue I would say it would be fine for a while ... Here is the info for the fish .. I am sure a search would yield tons of results .. good luck

i have a 75 with a big maroon clown and not much else would he go in there?

he would need a tank of around 300g min. Too bad too cause they are beautiful, I was thinking about putting him in one of my sumps but needless to say a almost 2 foot fish is too much for my 90g sump.:(

yea i think i'll have to pass gets a little too big for my tank. i'm going to take the anemones out of that tank though.

They are good looking fish when they are small but as they get larger they don't look so good. A 180 would be big enough for a panther. Good luck finding a home.

Thanks guys. He is a very personable guy. More like a trained dog than a fish. I am just at a loss as to what to do with him. If anybody hears of someone looking than please pm me. BTW..he is still in the "awww he is SO CUTE" stage.
Also, he is in my tank with a couple haitians (sp) and I have had no trouble whatsoever.

you might also try posting in the Richmond reef club site also the Hamptons and WAMAS sites would give you a good chance of finding someone with a big FO tank.

How would I get in touch with him? I tried the Richmond Reef Club and haven't gotten any hits. I'd love to give him to UA. I have purchased there before and am thrilled with my corals and fish. Would be nice to give back.

Unfortunately Chris can't use him so I'm back to square one. I'm thinking of posting on the livestock selling forum as free and I'll even pay shipping. But, I have NO clue on how to ship livestock. Can someone here tell me what I will need to get him from point A to point B IF someone wants him? Thanks guys !

If you decide to ship him , I have some Styrofoam boxes and you could have one ... I will help you ship him if need be ... just let me know...

I may have found a taker and they are local so no shipping. Thank goodness for that. Thanks everybody for all the help. You are the greatest !
