Just found a Pistol Shrimp while cleaning the sump - my wife will not let me kill him - so will anyone take the little guy off my hands. He is less than 1 inch long. Will post picture later - Sorry James the wife will not let me kill it.
Thanks I will float him in a small cup tonight in the sump and if you p.m. me and let me know where to meet you I work in San Rafael tomorrow at 9. My wife will be very pleased.
Well bad news, when I left for work I checked on the inmate and he was fine. My wife fed the fish this morning and found that the shrimp had escaped(sorry Gangero I will let you know if I catch him again. I wish I had left him in the sump but oh well.)
How much damage can he do?? Hopefully he is the only one and doesn't reproduce. I am glad I took his picture.
Reef bass thanks, the tank is doing pretty well. I am rebuilding the sump to make it big enough to hold my euroreef skimmer. It will be a week without a skimmer but it had a seaclone before so it might not make much difference. The xenia on the left side is going crazy and the clown has been feeding his anenome.
I don't have a lot of coraline yet but I might need to seed it.
Reefbass you might enjoy this, I took the photo of the shrimp with a reversed 50mm lens. He is really only about 3/4" long and 1"16 wide.
All fish and corals seem healthy as for the other tanks I am working on, my wife took a pay cut to keep the place she works alive so they will have to wait. I am almost ready for a 55 fish only and I am placing plexi for a 10 gallon frag one fish tank. Both tanks need lighting but I will wait for a few months.
Craig.
matins shrimp are the "bad" that can break glass. No he wont pair up with that goby. (he needs a Randall, yellow watchman, yasha, etc usually smaller gobies)
