Fresh water prey for mantis

Does feeding mantis freshwater prey items like crayfish and feeder fish effect their health? also, would getting live clams and snails at the seafood store be a bad idea to feed the mantis?

The best thing to do is think about what the animal eats in the wild. And that means that you really should feed saltwater prey. Snails and saltwater clams are good for it too. Crayfish and goldfish will probably not even provide enough nutrition and in the long run will cause some sort of organ failure. Or at least that's what I hear
