Freshwater dip / Did I kill my palythoa ?

I gave it a freshwater dip for 5 minutes, but I forgot to adjust the pH first. All of the palythoa are closed up tightly.

How will I know if it is dead, or just in shock?

Hard to tell. I dip all my zoas/palys in RO water. I also forgot to buffer the pH last week on a frag i traded for. Looks ok for 3 or 4 days, then melted away this week. Never did open up. Give it some time.

pH is important but not as important as temp of the water when dipping.
Your palythoa's are probably still in shock. It may take up to a week or so for them to open.
