Anyone freshwater dip their clams when you see signs of gaping or pinched mantle?

From what I have read... use ro/di water matched to tank temp and dip from anywhere from 5-30 minutes. Majority say 20 mins.

When I had clams I thought I had pinched mantle disease. I took the clam out and at the base were pyramid snails. Brushed them off and it was good. I remember on treating them with a freshwater dip and the freshwater had to make contact with the entire flesh for x amount of time. I also thought there was a medication also? Anyways, I'd just keep an eye before they die and contaminate the tank. Which happen to my 240 with a nerf football size clam dieing and literally killing off all the sps then the domino affect took over :(
