Freshwater dip for new lawnmower blenny??

Im planning on aquiring a lawnmower blenny for my reef tank. I ususally quarantine, but due to time constraints of leaving for college it would be difficult to complete a full quarantine. I was planning on a freshwater dip before addiing the blenny to the tank. I want to make sure that it will be okay for this species to undergo a dip. Also in what order should this happen? i keep reading that i should aclimatize,then dip... or visa versa.

Would you recommend a full length dip, or shorter assuming the fish is not distressing to greatly?

Honestly, I don't think a dip is a good substitute for QT. I understand you have time constraints, though, and IME most healthy looking blennies are usually hardy and disease free. If you have any doubt about the FW dip (remember to adjust pH and temp to the tank it will go to) you could substitute a 30-50 minute formalin bath. Formalin is nasty stuff, but dosed correctly, it is effective and well tolerated by fish (again, this is my experience).

Have you considered putting it off? Bad things most often happen to my tanks when I change something and don't have the time to monitor things closely.

Lisa's suggestion of putting it off till you have time to QT is best. Otherwise, Lawnmower Blennies are quite tolerant of FW dips.
