Frilly Mushroom "Shrinkage"

Sounds painful, but my Frilly Mushrooms are not doing well at all. I just found out my salt was very high 1.030, and I am lowering it now.

They have been doing great for about 3 months now.

My question is can they come back and can that cause them to start to shrivel up?

Also there is a weird white film near them that looks like a spider web any ideas?

Lastly there appears to be a white substance come from the center of the mushrooms?

Thanks

Dan

Mushrooms generally can regenerate well, IME. Yours might recover. 1.030 is rather high, and might have caused the problem. Hard to say what caused the shriveling, but I would suggest checking all the water parameters carefully after the SG is back to 1.026 or so. I would lower it no more than 0.001 units every other day or so.

A picture might help for the spider web, and I can't guess about the substance from the mushroom. Might just be releasing waste.

IME these mushrooms can't die. I've done everything in the book to them and they do just fine. The stuff coming from their mouth is their guts, they expell that when they are stressed. Wouldn't worry about it just do like bertoni says and get your tank back in check.
