Frogspawn: bailout: a method of reproduction.

I've kept this type successfully (params in my sig line)---not quite as prolific as hammer, but still very happy to divide.

What else it does, however, is bail. IF you can stabilize these bailouts, however, and keep tank params as below, they regrow skeleton.

Here's one, a little twisty, but this was a popped head, and this is a well-started skeleton growth. Keep the head in a shallow glass dish (an old glass lid is good) so it doesn't blow, give it plenty of light, and there you are---grows at about the rate of any healthy frog: divides, starts with a calcareous bump where the division happens, then grows more and just keeps doing it.

It's been treated as mythological in many hobbyist posts, but here's the reality: and while frog is a bit prone to bail---more so than hammer or torch, in my experience---it is actually an option it has when it meets 'bad' conditions. It multiplies its one chance into several tries borne on the currents and governed by chance: ONE may land somewhere better. Meanwhile the former colony just sits there hoping for things to improve.
