Frogspawn Help

I think that is frogspawn? Just picked it up from LFS yesterday. How much flow is too much? I believe it was in too high of flow bc some of the tentacles look like they have been stretched almost to the point of breaking. Also the coloration has gone down a bit so any suggestions to helping this guy THRIVE and become extremely healthy?

Cant see that well on such a small pic, but from what I can see, it does look like some sort of euphyllia (I think i spelt it wrong, but its the family the frogspawn belongs to), and I am willing to bet it is indeed a frogspawn.

From my experience, you should take it out of the sand and see if you can stick it in the rock work....they like it better up there IME. I also keep mine in a pretty low flow area, polyps are barley moving.

Hope that helps

Ah...posted that as I was typing.

That is definetly much better, now I am having second thoughts. I am pretty sure thats a torch, because frogs have more knobs on the sides of the tentacles. Pretty much the same care from what I have read. Good luck, sorry I cant help you with torchs that well.

Kinda looks like a hammer to me.. Either way same care. Make sure your water quality is good. Keep it is a lower flow area till it starts to get better. Also make sure flow is indirect.

Hammer.

Polyps shouldn't be blowing across the the coral like that. Place it in an area where they will inflate more and just float or sway.

It will get plenty of light in the sand bed with that 150 hqi. Just don't let the polyps fall in the sand.

I tried hiding it in a crevice but its still blowing around quite a bit... i dont know how its getting so much flow! i replaced the stock pump w a mj1200 but right now thats the only thing moving water. i have half my lr cooking to rid it of some unwated algae and going to be removing these to get rid of the tiny bits on it. ill try and get a pic of its placement and get your guys's input one if theres somewhere better for it.
