Frogspawn multiplying or breaking apart??

My Frogspawn is growing well. The skeleton tubes lengthen and fork out. However, several times i noticed a piece of the meaty section of it free-floating within the DT. They usually are 3-4 short tendrils, all no bigger than a pea. Are those floating parts a result of it breaking up (damaging) or is that another way for Frogspawn to multiply?
If the latter, how do I capture it or attach, so that it does not get stuck in the overflow grille or flow down to the sump?
Thanks!

IT is called polyp bailout, and it indicates stress. The freefloating bit will detach, but can grow new skeleton if it drifts where conditions are right.

Check your nitrates. You want them under 5 for this species.

Also, be sure you don't have a pepper it shrimp or a camel shrimp going to town on it. I caught mine going Edward scissor hands on frogspawn before.
