From 260w PC to 500w MH

Basic question here on lighting. I'm upgrading from 250w PC to 500w MH.
What process (hours on p/d starting how long ending hours p/d) of acclimation to my 75 gallon tank should I use? Tank has 4 fish and 1 anemone and some button polyps.
What kind of changes can I expect (more algae)?
Also can I add things ( more coral, etc) in the process?

Buy yourself 5-6 pieces of window screen at the hardware store and stack them on top of each other. Each week remove one of the layers until you are left with no screens. Thats what i did and a few of my friends. I left the timers alone and didnt adjust the cycle at all.

How long do you leave your lights on? And do you have ANY other lights to help
fade in (morning) and out at night?
