From the LFS $5 frag bin...

Hello, All-knowing i.d. gurus,

got this from a bin of unidentified frags. It never seems to lay down skeleton and get any bigger, but it does spread rather quickly to the surrounding rock. You can see where some polyps have crept over on the left side of the photo. The best growth and color occurs on the underside, away from the light.

The entire thing is about 1" in diameter. What is it? (and thanks for your time.)

Blastamussa Merletti. Very nice score. LPS coral though.

I forgot to mention at first that the whole thing is tiny--about 1" across (but edited my post to clarify). Does that change your id?

Looks like a blastomussa merletti but I haven't seen one encrusting like that.

Thanks for the hint! It appears to be Leptastrea Pruinosa. I resurrected some dead threads and found very similar pictures here
