Frustrated with BTA and flow

I have a pair of vortechs. I am running in reefcrest random mode full blast, the anemones are happy where they are, and they don't move. I like it where they are, they've been there for weeks (months for the other).

I've tried twice to switch out to a standing wave (pulse mode). The problem is that every time I do, the anemones get up and start walking into the SPS.

Both times I switched back to reefcrest the anemones moved back exactly where they started and have stayed there since. One of them really likes to have its tentacles flailing around in the full blast. The other avoids the flow more in a place where it can reach more light.

I don't suppose there's any way to negotiate a compromise with these brainless sacks of water is there? :lol: I might have to buy a wave/surge box in addition to the flow that I already have.

I don't think there's any negotiating with an anemone. It's going to go if it wants to. With mine, I've noticed that if they are really happy with their foothold, then they won't move, even if there is a subtle change in the water flow. Mine especially like to have their foot in a concave area on an overhang in the live rock. The concave area is preferably large enough to accomodate the whole basal disk.
