For Sale:

120 gal RR AGA Tank. It has Oak Trim. The tank is actually unused and still in the AGA original manufacturer wrapping. One of the sides is cracked and will need replacing. I took this on as a project, but my situation has changed the last few months and I won't have room for it at my new house.

It's the tank only, no stand or any other accessories. I'm asking 150.00 OBO. Wasn't sure where to start the pricing since you don't see too many cracked tanks for sale, so looking at some older posts and what people were asking for a similar situation, that's why I'm starting here. I think it's a good deal for someone that can handle a DIY project, since a new tank like this would run close to 600. Please feel free to post or PM though if you think I'm way off in what I'm asking since it's cracked.

Would also be willing to accept some type of trade involving a smaller all-in-one (nanocube, biocube, etc).

I can post pics of the tank tomorrow night if anyone wants to see it.

Thanks

Pictures would be nice, And where are the overflows located and how many? How old is the tank MFG date? Dimensions? 48x24x24?

Need is an irrelevant term! Want is more relevant in this hobby. Just thought i may take this tank all apart and have the glass recut to 20" high and redo the whole tank as a rimless. But the price will have to be very cheap to even try as cost would most likely be more than new. That's if i can find someone to cut and polish the 4 pieces of glass and put it all back together and have it look decent, Oh and hold water!

Hmmm... well, I am not one to cut or polish, but I might be willing to assemble it for ya. no warranty, but it will hold water. what is the thickness of the glass on those?

Sure

I think i can do it myself, But to get the glass cut and polished may cost more than a new tank. Then you have all the time and materials involved so it may not even be feasable cost wise.
I'm still waiting for Ocea to make a tank for me! They have been MIA for a week or so, Not sure what is going on. Chris at the AC is working on it.

Gotcha.... I think bart had some glass cut for a 55 and it cost him a good deal of stash. for my glass guy down here, it was $10 a cut but they didnt have the super bevel and polish like tank glass normally does. they were sanded to keep them from chipping. since I used Black silicone on that glass it didnt matter anyways.

Whoot, Just heard from Chris and my tank is built and ready for delivery Fri or Sat. I may just drive down and get it myself if they don't plan on coming Fri.

PS Still would like to see pictures of this 120 AGA

Here's some pics. Sorry for the poor quality.

As you can see, there are 2 overflows along the back wall, they are not corner overflows. It is factory drilled. Looking at the front of the tank, the cracked piece is the left side. It goes from nearly the top all the way down to the silicone, so the whole piece is bad. I was not able to find a MFG date on the tank. It is a 48x24x24 model.

I am not sure of the thickness of the glass, but it's got to be pretty thick cause I can tell you this is a heavy beast. Much more heavier than I remember my old 75 being.

In the last picture it looks like there is a small crack in the back glass on the bottom, Or is this just a shadow? It would be a decent tank for someone that has DIY skills and wants this type tank.
I'll send you a PM as far as going any further with this.

Call glasscages for a price on the glass,I got a 8'x2' 1/2'' thick sheet for the bottom of my 240 for $150.00.And it was polished on all 4 sides.

If that is one of the end panels, I have a piece of glass that is 29.5x 23. that is 1/2" glass if someone wants to repair it. the piece is already cut but was slightly too small for my 180. The edges were not polished, just ground so it would not chip. if you do black silicone, you will never see it. Just as an FYI, for the person who buys it, if you do replace the panel, you will have to completely re-silicone it the tank to make sure it is perfectly water tight. I may offer to do it for you... I also have a large sheet of glass that is 3' x 7' starphire 1/2"

wish I had the $$ to buy it or I would.
