Title says if all, I am thinking about selling my 180. This is the tank, stand and 75 gallon sump. I want $800.00. Tank is still running if you want to see. I will move everything back to my 75 gallon if someone is interested in the tank.

Put down the sledge hammer
and step away from the tank!!!!

Thanks, I needed that. I don't have the sledge hammer in hand. Got tired of holding. I just have had trouble getting things to stabblize in there for such a long time.
I got a call about 30 seconds after I posted this. Someone offered me a 120 for the 180. I am thinking that if I can get the tank broke down, maybe scrub the rock. Try to find whatever is keeping my nitrate at 100 plus, maybe restarting everything will help. This time I know a lot more than I did before, so maybe I can avoid any and all mistakes. And what I don't know, you all know. It just has gotten to the point that I am not enjoying my 180 at all.
Dert, I had someone call as soon as I posted this, If this deal falls through, Then I will let you know. The tank in a 180 oceanic Reef Ready. dual overflow at each end, it is the older tank. As told, it is an oceanic from when oceanic's were really oceanis.
What ever that means. Jack knows.

:( crap.

depending on the dimensions, that might of been exactly what i was looking for.
if it helps, i'll be looking to unload my 165 if/when i upgrade.
it's not RR though.

the 180 is 72x24x24.
Here are pictures, This info is just incase the person I am dealing with at present decides they don't want it.

Don't do it. You will kick your self in da butt. Tanks take time. We all get to this point but let it go, do your water changes, skim, run carbon. Don't use machanical filtration. Check for rusting pumps. Do a couple shot's of something hard. relax. Try yoga. I haven't but I'm a head case so don't listen to me. now this message don't mean didily.

I am not quiting, I am just trying to get a better foothold on things. I am thinking that maybe if I start over from scratch with more info, and such, maybe I can get it under control. Thus atually get to enjoy my tank, not constantly work on it.
Nook, thanks for the song.

There is limited space, I would have to take the 180 totally down, reguardless. So if I am going to do that, I rather set up something that will allow me more versatility since I would have a little more room to work. I am thinking that this way, I would have room for a separate fuge away from the sump. This might work out better for me in the long run.

*sigh* thats the exact size i'm looking for...

i was so sad i bought myself a naso tang...
SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO!

Going to a smaller size might cause you more problems.

Stick it out. Put a "sorry, decided to keep it" after this message

Yeah, didn't you have a hard time "convincing" your landlord to allow such a large tank? That might not happen again if you downsize and try to get another large tank again.

That is the main problem, I can't figure out how to save the tank, I have done everything I can think of. And now it is down to tear the whole bloody thing apart. As you know I would have to totally empty the tank, down to bare glass and take it off the stand just to work on the skimmer. If I have to go that far, I might as well set up a new tank where I would have room to work.
I have tried for months to get the chemisty in order, and it is not working. so now I think it is something in how the sump was set up. Maybe I have the water going thru to fast. I don't know. But something isn't right. I should not keep have nitrates of over 100. I know I don't over feed the fish. The water is good. I can't get my alk up to a safe level. I just think the only way to fix it at this point is to scrap it.

Rena,

Before you tear it all down, how about letting a few of us come over there and help you troubleshoot? I have some decent quality test kits and don't mind looking at your system and helping figure out what is the matter with it. I could come by on Monday afternoon or evening with Capo(if he is available) and a couple other reefers that want to join in to help.

You've had WAY TOO MANY problems with this thing and we need to get down to brass tacks and ask some tough questions and critique that system.
