FS: 2 denitrifiers

I have a Midwest Aquatics unit w/ extra media for $200

And I have a DIY - coil denitrifier that is full of bio balls. Stands just under 30" tall. Asking $50 or best offer.

Pick up in Tiffin or can meet for additional $$$.

I know this is from the way-back files, but did you ever get rid of the sulfur denitrator?

It is long gone.
I have had much better luck lowering nitrates by dosing vodka or sugar. Yea that is right. You can find several threads here on the main RC forum or go here:

Hey Chuck I figured it was gone but thought I'd ask... I'm about to hook up my new calcium reactor as soon as I fix the last leak... I think my Eheim pump has a bad O-ring. That will leave me with a Coralife reactor I may convert to a denitrator.
I have been reading about vodka, I take it you've had success with that? I've guessed I needed to do something and finally bought a kit last weekend... and its off the chart:eek2:

Tim,
I have had great success with dosing vodka and/or sugar to reduce my nitrates. I guess I like to over feed my fish and thus have or had a nitrate problem similar to yours... off the chart.
Now my nitrates are zero and my fish are fat.
When dosing vodka, just go slow and you will not have any problems. But it is a hell of a lot faster than using a denitrator.
