I have a few things I'd like to sell to make way for more stuff for my prop. tank.

Will consider trades for protein skimmers (asm, euroreef, etc), please no red sea prizms.

PFO HQI 250 Watt Metal Halide Mini Pendant (Double-Ended)

PF2675_1.jpg

Picture is stock from marine depot

Comes with 2 bulbs of approx 4-6 months usage each (Ushio 15k? and Aqualine 10k)

No ballast.

See more at marine depot

This would retail for $270 if it was all new. I know it isn't new and isn't worth $270.

I'd like $75 for the pendant and 2 bulbs. Will part out (pendant $50, bulbs $25 each)

Sunlight Supply Blue Wave 7 250W HQI Dual Metal Halide Ballast

This dual ballast has approx 1 year use and comes with a 5 year warranty when new. Retails for $479.99

Does not include lamp cords ($5.99 new each)

I'd like to get $250 for it.

BTW, How did you like the pendant while using it? I was thinking of using these in the future.

I've used the PFO pendants on and off and like them alright. They are deep, so if you wanted a retrofit, the reefstars by Hamilton are a better fit. I think the light on the PFO is focused more down than out, so they are good for smaller aquariums. I had one over a 10 gallon and it was very nice. Overkill, but nice.

I am going to hang 3-250's at the edge of three sides of a 4' x 4' x 2'DP cube, and design a light rack that will allow me to angle them back inwards so as to eliminate the troublsome shadows on pieces and fully illuminate the viewed sides.

With three, they should overlap and triangulate the middle of the tank.

I was interested in them for the upgradeablility to 400's if needed.

I didn't think they were upgradeable to 400, so I double checked marinedepot, and it looks like only the 400 DE are wider than 250s and only the IceCap pendants are interchangeable.

Plus, you'd need a third wire to angle them in.

Huh?, a few months ago when I was looking at them they had one housing for the two and talked about how they were upgradeable.....must have changed the design.

I am making a custom lighting frame to be suspended that will anchor whichever pendants I choose. The will most likely have a custom hanger/mount that will rotate the pendant to the orientation I desire.

I am a little far off from doing this though and is more "pie in the sky" currently.
