Since I broke down my tank and sold off all the livestock, I've sat on the rest of the equipment too long without trying to seriously sell it. Since we have the Frag Swap coming up, I am reposting this and will market it to the surrounding area clubs.

I am selling the tank, stand, and canopy for $425 - basically the cost of the materials.

I made the stand and canopy with 2x4 framing, red oak front and trim, and 3/4" red oak plywood. The electrical receptacles are mounted on the full back plate and are included with the tank (along with an SO cord and plug external to the stand). You can see the details of my fabrication at this link (since they seemed to have removed my DIY articles from Reef Central):

Here are some recent (taken this morning) photos of my tank:

I also have the following for sale:
30G Glass Sump, $75 - with six baffles:

Berlin Turbo Skimmer, $75 - cracked, but repaired with WeldOn 4 & 15 and doesn't leak

Mag 12 Pump, $35 - Impeller rattles and should be replaced. Includes the return plumbing if you buy with the tank.

I will sell the above four items (tank setup, sump, skimmer, pump) for $550 if somebody will take it all off my hands.

I have already sold off the lights and the external overflow box. I have some other miscellaneous items like a Seio 820 and heaters and the like I haven't posted, but I am not worried about those.

I can meet you somewhere in Knoxville or bring these to the Frag Swap in June if you like.

Thanks!
-Scott

Price Drop!

Dropping cost of stand/hood/tank to $375 -- or $350 without the tank so you can put in your own standard internal overflow tank (I'll drill the holes where you need 'em -- the surface is only 1/2" plywood). At this point, I am just tired of looking at it in my den and would like to move my other 75G downstairs to where it is sitting.

Bump. A guy responded to my ad on craigslist and is coming by this weekend to look at the tank. If you are interested, let me know soon. I am hoping it doesn't last through the weekend. :) So is my wife, who wants it out of her family room. ;)

It lasted. *SIGH* I am in no hurry to sell, but my wife is starting to be like a dripping faucet about it sitting downstairs...

Thanks. I have had a couple people take a look at it, but nothing final. The looks both came from craigslist, too. I think many people don't care about how their stand and hood looks -- they just want them to do their job structurally. Then they can spend the extra $$$ on other equipment.

I wish somebody would buy it soon -- there is a compression-sustainer and a digital reverb pedal for sale on craigslist that I want to get. :)

look on the bright side. you can always setup a tree frog showcase or use it for clothes storage..that's what i'm trying to decide on with my 75g

truthfully i have everything i need short of a skimmer to setup again so i'm just going to store it and when the time is right jump back in to the hobby since i cant sale it.

I just got another call on the tank. Craigslist is great. :)

I have an old repaired Berlin Turbo skimmer if you want it cheap. I was asking $75 for it, but I'll sell it to you for $45 (or a single ~8 lb nice piece of liverock with your first order) if you want it as an interim unit. I'd run it in-sump, though, even though the cracks are repaired.

Tank still for sale. :)

The lady from the Tri-cities area whom I was supposed to meet on Friday had a family medical emergency and had to cancel her trip to Knoxville. She says she still wants the tank in 6 weeks when she can next come by. But I'll still have it on the market until then. It isn't sold until somebody shakes on it.

Unless you want to give it away for free I can't help ya. Money is too tight right now :/ I'll see if I know anyone that is looking...

Heh. That's fine. Thanks. I took the pics for somebody who wanted more detail and decided to toss the link here as well.

Tank/hood/stand and sump have bee sold. I still have the skimmer ($50) and mag pump ($30). Or I can trade if you have something I need (such as live rock).

What size Mag is it again and how many gallons is the skimmer rated for? I might need them for the schools 70g since the pump and skimmer it has sucks.

The pump is the Mag 12 with the older "type A" impeller. It needs a new impeller which Aquarium can order for less than $20 -- or you can mail order it for less (and probably get it quicker). It also has a couple of stripped-out screws and can't be used externally because of a slow leak. I used this pump fairly steady for about 3 years on a freshwater setup and 5 years on my 75G reef tank.

The skimmer claims to be rated for a large tank (180 or greater, if I remember), but posts here constantly poo-poo this claim and say for the money ($229 new, I think), you can get a better deal on another skimmer. I used it on my 75G for a year or two and it did well.
