FS blue echinata from Aquascene

I got this blue echinata from James at Aquascene and I am selling the whole colony (roughly 2.5"-3") for $100. About a 1/3 of the colony has died off. My tank has red bugs, but I do not notice any on the echinata. A few months ago, I noticed that I had flatworms when I looked at my tank at night, but I don't think they are the acro eating type since they haven't affected my other acros. Local pickup only.

Pic taken back in October and the colony has grown since then.

hmm..i wonder what that is tim. hopefully your tank is okay.

Sounded pretty bad. SPSkeeper's worst nightmare. Would have been worth the hassle, though, if it was a true echinata:(

Double ouch!

what is it, am I losing something here? Sounds like you guys know what is going on with Tim, what kind of nightmare is SPSkeeper's worst?

that was why we avoided it, plus our tank is not really ready for corals that would need to be nursed back to health.

I hope that the problem is not what we all suspect it to be :(. We will keep our fingers crossed for you Tim.

hi guys, thanks for your concerns. i only took home three tiny tips of the echinata colony and a small frag of turaki. did interceptor for 6 hours and levamisole for 1hr before putting in my tank. another reefer and his friend called me and gave me heads up that they found aefw on stuff they got the night before. but a close buddy of mine, pretty much bought out everything he had and had to frag entire colonies down to frags to minimize his aefw risks.

discus010 seems like a good guy and is working things out with my friend.

I agree with your friends approach... we frag everything these days and typically don't accept full colonies (or even mini colonies) of anything. Everything gets dipped and everything gets fragged (unless it is already frags :)). Been through that AEFW hell once already.. not looking for an encore.

As for AEFWs, if you see them on anything in the tank, you can pretty muhc guarantee that they are on everything. Eitehr way we assume that everything has AEFWs and LRBs and treat them accordingly. I Am still surprised when people are offended when they find out that we iwll be dipping and treating frags we get from them. It is nothing personal, everything gets dipped :)

Best of luck growing out those tips/frags Tim... hopefully there will be more of that enchinata to go around here eventually as it would look great in our new tank once it is up and running :)
