It will fit on a 36" tank, but obviously, light will not be as intense at the ends of the tank

Ya I think the actual light in the size you have is only 22" long. I've wanted this exact light for my Mr aqua 12g long (36" tank) for awhile now but in the 36-48 size. Light has good reviews for basic corals and low light sps

Yup about 24". Definitely for a shallow tank. I ran it over a 40g breeder for about 1/2 hour, and while it would do good for lps, zoas and other softies, I don't think it would support sps due to depth.

I also put it over the 29 Biocube to see how much it would light up that tank. It's got plenty of light for a smaller area tank like a cube, due to light reflection.

The colors it rendered were nice. Wish I could use it for something, but don't have any small tanks anymore
