FS: Hawaiian Flame Wrasse - Large Male

BobbyV

Established since 2008
I have had this specimen for a year and has morphed from a sub male to a dominant male.

(I have a very fat Hawaiian Flame female in the tank and a dominant ruby wrasse male.)

Flashing contest with the female very interesting to watch.

This male is very fat, healthy and very vibrant color!

Eats everything! Including Pellets!

Disease free!

Normal Retail $250 plus.

My selling price $200.

Reason for sale: The way I plumbed my 300, the fairy wrasses keep jumping into the overflows on either side of the 300DD. My screens don't sit flush flat onto the tank, their is a central return I plumbed into the back center of my display tank. If my screen where sitting flush and flat, I would not have a need to sell my wrasses. Explained below in further detail.

I noticed as the auto pellet feeder feeds the tank, the pellets float till the water surface breaks then they sink. Well of course the wrasses are excited to eat and they race to the surface of the water. Sometimes they fail to turn on their brakes and they jump, reflect off the screens and hit the corner pocket overflows.

So with that being said, as they jump into the overflows I will be selling them one by one.

Pictures to be posted tomorrow when I transport him into a holding tank for safe keeping.

This fish is very friendly and does not bully any of the other wrasses.

Thank you for your interest.

Please PM or Call/Text 772 559 1814.

Here is a video and a few photos.

Tough to take good shots with a fish moving on a Samsung G3 Phone/Recording Camera.

LEDS haven't fully ramped up yet.

Video: (let it load then replay it)

$175

Buyer has very limited risk!

This fish requires no special treatment, only a screen over your tank.

Bobby if u where closer I would be interested but with new baby who knows when I could make the drive. I have some zoa frags if u want to make a trade and a drive :)

Dang it. What an amazing deal. I lite up when I saw $200. Jaw dropped when I saw the price drop. Been actively searching for one and I missed it. Crap.

Thank you for the message.

I try my best to offer up whatever I have at a reasonable price for others to enjoy.

I do have a second one in the tank that has taken on some interesting characteristics.

I initially purchased this specimen as a female. However I have noticed that it has started morphing and bringing on the potential colors of a super male. Flame wrasse super males have a very thick red band on the top as their primary dorsal and their bottom yellow rear fin has a very thick red band as a trim. Red Trim as thick as 1/4 an inch!

I have no idea now that the other male is no longer in the tank if the fish will continue the process.

I heavily feed vitamin/mineral nutritional foods. Maybe has something to do with it?

Quite frankly catching this fish is impossible, but if it ever jumps into the over flow of course I will offer it up for sale.

If the fish truly does morph into a supermale and is caught I would be offering it up for a little more since they retail and go as expensive as $350.

But if it doesn't jump, I very much enjoy it for a little longer hunting for pods.

Stay tuned .. .. ..

I've dealt with you a few times in past and I always walk away 100% satisfied with my purchase.

Great seller.

Bobby, I've heard over time all flame wrasses tend to turn male in captivity.

Thank you for the nice support. I just want it always to be WIN WIN.

Not worth making someone upset.

Thank you for sharing that information.

FS: Hawaiian Flame Wrasse - Large Male

Thanks again Robert. Dropped him in the tank and I'm on a plane now getting ready to take off. I'm a nervous wreck leaving so soon. I'll be back Sunday and give you an update. Thanks again for the great deal and all your support.

I ended that problem on my overflows by adding plastic gutter guard that blocks any and all attempts to enter the overflow...in the past 5 years not a single fish has 'gone over'... and I have 80 fish including ~40 wrasses
