I recently took my 3 year old reef tank down. I plan on taking a break for a few years, so I am selling the tank, stand and canopy. Figured I'd post here if anyone's in the market for a nice setup at a real good price.
The tank is a 120 gallon AGA tank with side overflow (drain accepts 1.5" pipe) and closed loop hole (also 1.5"), canopy and stand. I am asking $450. The price is firm.
The stand is from the manufacturer with slight modification by me. Mainly, there is a hole drilled in one end and the back of the stand has been closed with boards to mimic the front. I used the tank as a 3-side viewable tank, but the tank could just as easily sit the customary "looking at the front" way. You'd probably want to make a few minor changes to the canopy if it sits the usual way - nothing major though. Namely, closing off the open end and probably removing what would become the back door. For the record, there are 2 or 3 very minor scratches in the tank but one pretty good one on the "outside" end. This is a used tank...
The canopy was DIY'd and is quite nice IMO. One caveat is that fluorescent bulbs work best in the 46.5" length. All URI VHOs come in this length, so they're easy to get ahold of. 48" bulbs could work with some minor canopy modification. I have used lighting combinations including: 4 VHOs with 2 mogul 400W halides, 4 VHOs with 2 mogul and 2 HQI halides, 4 VHOs with 2 HQI halides, and 2 VHOs with 4 mogul halides. As you can see, the canopy will readily accept any of the more "popular" lighting arrangements with ease. The canopy will include two variable speed Icecap 4" fans.
The tank is still in need of a "spic and span" cleaning, which will be done before you come to pick it up. I'll offer to help you get it out of my basement and into your truck or van. Then you're on your own.
Also, you may see the wiring for an IC660 in there. That stays with me, as do the endcaps, but you can have the VHO mounting boards if you want them. I also still have the silent Durso pipe to throw in.
Here are some pics...don't let all the salt chunks scare you.
There are no leaks. And as I said, it will be clean for pickup.
This pic looks like the CL hole is in the near side. It's not, it's on the far side.
