Hes not a fancy species so really not worth it.

I sell everyone I get.....as fast as I can ship them...only problem is is expensive to ship just one mantis, but we have a small box now that I can send one to your door for $50..

Cool, is the way it is susposed to work, most folks like you that are local, have very few ammonia issues...

Well both of the ones I have caught so far are spoken for, and have more people on a waiting list. haha. I think there may be one more lurking, havent seen him yet but it sounds like hes in there. I'm not having any problem finding people who want them.

Is because this specie is a pretty well manner one...usually....some folks leave them in the tank as they are great sand stirrers, and really neat critters..Roy Caldwell has some great info on them in the mantis forum...did you know they have the most advanced eyesight in the animal kingdom?

Which is why you usually only get one try at them with a net....because after that they are too smart to be captured in the same manner!

LOL That was my problem with trying to catch the first one yesterday. Even when he kept walking around on the sand, I still couldnt get him with a net. He kept going in and out of holes, sticking his head out, making his clicking noise, and staring at me. Even HE knew I was fighting a losing battle!

Ok, well I officially have 2 more mantis shrimp that have been caught. The first one is going to Skinny Joe, the second one is up for grabs.

These are all n. wennerae and are of green to brown coloring.

Hey sytanek, you have any pictures of that TBS live rock? Just wondering what its shapes/make-up is like since I have heard mixed comments about it?

IT is very boulderish looking with lots of holes. Pros are the life on the rock, all the awesome extra stuff you get with it, trading what most people consider bad hitchhikers for stuff.

The cons are its not very branchy pieces and some people dont like the hitchhikers that come with it.

Most of the pieces look like boulders, but almost every one of them has little holes, caves that run throught the rock,

Did you go over there and pick out the peices yourself or did you have it shipped?

It seems that what you said is pretty much the average response from most recipients. I just wonder if they were more unique shapes available if I were to sometime go to the store and pick out the rock myself...
