FS: Whole Deep Blue 75G setup (but you might want a new sump)

I'm a little sad writing this post because I've really felt like part of this club, especially recently, and I think the culture has really been getting better and better here and I've nothing but good feelings about the hobby, and all of you.

I recently have been going through a lot of personal revelations and life is sort of pulling me in a new direction and I'm excited, I've realized some things, grown up a little, decided to pursue some new projects, and altogether things are changing and generally, it's good. :)

I haven't been paying much attention to my reef, though. Actually, it's almost a FOWLR except for a scant few "showpieces". I've really enjoyed my tank and all the little personalities in there, but I'm basically just going through the motions of filter change, carbon change, top off, etc. I hardly ever even have much time to just look at the thing.

SO, in an effort to possibly fund some of the new stuff I'll be doing, I'm going to try to sell my setup as a set.

Sorry about the short story, now here's the business part! :)

I won't be parting this out. If I can't sell the whole hobby, I'll just keep on topping off the water for now. ;)

Make an offer. I know I may have priced high on one or two line items but I'm trying to set fair prices given the retail price and taking into consideration the good condition of most of my equipment. The display tank, for example, is practically brand new and has only had water in it for a few months.

There's a 20H sump in the stand, but you probably don't want it. I didn't like my baffle height but had already filled the tank, so I drilled a bunch of holes and one baffle cracked. It works, as long as the flow isn't too high, but it's not pretty and probably only suits me.

Here's a few photos showing some of the rockwork and livestock:

If you take the package I'll even toss in a swell RC helicopter I managed to pick up recently, but have no time for... ;)

all i can say
:sad2:

Just so you know, the little mantis dude is doing really well and he's staying. I know you didn't want him moved around and I've no plans to mess with his little world. He's living under my freshwater puffer tank in the kitchen and that's where he'll stay. I've been using my sink RODI system for topping off his 10g, it puts out 2 TDS which isn't too shabby.

Awww...life goes on! I havent been around too long yet but will miss your posts! How are the FW puffers doing btw??

Actually I have another one now that's not looking so hot. There are two very big, very strong "alphas" that sort of bully the other two, and one of them is hovering near the surface today looking terrible.

I think my water may not be alkaline enough for them. The pH is around 8.0, give or take.

I probably should have started with an easier species but didn't want a boring tank.

I'm also having a lot of issues with gas pockets in the soil erupting and fouling the tank. I need to pick up a filter bag and run some GAC to reduce the tannins in the water, it's very very dark.

I only put a very small amount of aquarium salt in the tank. I haven't started bringing it up to brackish yet. My impression was that they have to go up slowly as they mature and they're only a couple weeks old.

I admit that I've been procrastinating my reading while other stuff has been going on. I'll read up this weekend if I can find an hour. :)

Yes slowly will work best but i would begin the process of bringing it to a low level brackish soon. And use marine salt...or at least research the option i really think aquarium salt isnt supposed to be for salinity. I could be wrong but i would double check if i were you. :)

A couple more photos of this kickass tank you know you want to buy.

My tonga "showpiece" is 15lbs by itself... :)

Monday bump. $1000. This is as low as I'll go. I'm not that motivated a seller, but I do have vet bills to pay...

My dog just came up lame, so I sympathize!

I know u said no part out, BUT, should you change your mind I would definitely give the Flame Angel a new home as the one my kids got me for my birthday never made it out of QT.

It's a huge question mark shaped piece of Tonga I think I paid kaylo $75 for it. I had to lie it on its side in my 75 because it broke the water surface otherwise. It'd look great mounted upright somehow.

Unfortunately I'm not sure the BTAs are gonna make it. They're both clones of the 12" I bought from Sue, and the clowns have been harrassing both clones endlessly while they try to heal up. They've gone to ground deep in my rockwork to escape, hopefully will come back out healthy in a day or two. :/

I'm dropping the price for this whole package to $900. Proceeds to benefit Molly's surgery fund. At this price, you're pretty much paying for the tank, pump, skimmer, light, and RODI and getting the rocks and fish and sand and corals for free. One or two of the individual rocks in this tank are probably worth $15-75 just based on how awesome they are.

I'll probably start parting out on Monday if/when it's confirmed that she definitely needs surgery on her leg. At that point the prices will go back to the list above OBO, but I'll have to sell the livestock first as I've no place to keep transients.

The BTAs are out again and looking better this morning. That was much faster than I was expecting.
