Thanks Dartolution! Virginia Beach is a very nice area. Been living there since 95'. Moving to Norfolk, which isn't far away, but much more convenient. Yes, diving is an awesome experience. Everyone should try it at least once! Good luck with the set up and welcome back to the addiction! :D

So the tank was successfully moved yesterday. The entire process only took 10 hrs and only one coral was lost. Here are some pics of what it matured to:

here's some pics of the carnage:

to what it currently looks like:

Next step is to clean up the wiring and if the anemone hasn't moved by the time I come home from work tomorrow, then I'll start placing the corals. More pics to come!

Oh and I also set up my biocube 14 again. Not going to have another thread for it. Just figure I'll add in a pic of its progress every now and then.

Nice glad the move wasn't too bad, I know the "carnage" pretty well too had to do that recently for termite fumigation, lost some corals and re-scaped a bit but pulling back strong. Looks like you were able to keep the tank a peninsula so that's good? Is that crazy yellow stuff on the floor of the long end of your tank just coraline or some kind of encrusting coral?

Thanks ChouDawg! Bummer about the fumigation and losing corals. Glad to hear the tank is bouncing back though!

Yep I got to keep the peninsula style and large colonies of corals after all. At the long end of the tank are zoanthids and coralline. It does appear that temps may be an issue. The tank stayed around 80 for much of the day and almost hit 82 around 3 am, but I turned on the window AC and its now sitting at 81. If this keeps up, a chiller will be in the works....

Hey all,

So, it's been awhile since my last update. Since the move, I've been having issues with various nuisance algaes, which you'll see in the pics. The tank is getting a bit of sunlight for a few hours in the morning, which is part of the issue. But I also haven't been as diligent with the water changes...My equipment hasn't helped the situation either. About a month ago, my controller's brain decided to get corrupted and then mp10 gave out, both occurring within two days of each other, which conveniently happened to be three days before I left the country to attend an international coral reef conference. I'm hoping the controller will get back to me sometime this week. I've also lost three of the five cardinals in the past four months. All disappearing over night. My only thought is that they accidentally swam into the anemone. I'll add some more once I get the algae under control...now for some pics!

Wow, great to see an update. The tank still looks great IMO.

Thanks markalot! It is nice, I'm just a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my tank....

Tank is looking good! And lots of growth too. Hope you sort out the algae issues. :)

Thanks sahin! I am surprised by the growth despite all the issues. I thought losing the controller and going from rock solid stable parameters to eh keep em as stable as possible would be more of a stress. I think time will tell though...

hello I just saw your tank and I congratulate you because he is wonderful

Thanks artisson62! And welcome to Reef Central!
