Fuge flow, how much?

I use a little bypass valve to direct a litle amount of flow of my return pump to feed my fuge. I wonder how much flow I have to redirect?
Does 1x the fuge volume per hour is enough?

Imhave a 90 gallons, with a 80 gal sump ( only filled to its half) with a 10 gal fuge.

Do you put a circulating pump in a fuge? Does I need to add an hermit in the fuge?

Sorry for all those questions... ;)

Depends on what the fuge is for. Macroalgae prefer high flow. You want to keep chaeto and the like lightly tumbling, so light can hit all sides.

I want to grow cheato, pods, and other stuff to feed corals...

So what do you think? 1 or 2 times the fuge vol per hour? More?

I run a separate refugium but I keep flow through the fuge about the same as the DT, or 5-6x per hour. IMO the flow through doesn't matter much. Your still circulating the same water through the fuge many times per day. It is a closed system and I doubt algaes will have trouble pulling nutrients out regardless of the flow through.

I have about 50x flow in the fuge itself from powerheads. It is barebottom with macroalgae and rock. The flow helps prevent detritus from building up. My chaeto doesn't tumble but it still grows quite well. I light it with a 150w MH. Pods also have no problem with the lack of sand or the high flow.
