I really want a mantis and am thinking about getting a smithii (is blue zoo aquatics an okay place to get them from?), here is the feeding scedule, tank specs, ect.
tank
29g fuge that the mantis would live in
attached to 20g display
65 watts PC lighting
35-50 watt NO lighting
2-3" DSB
30 lbs LR
coralife super skimmer (not sure if it will be hand on or in sump)

feeding
selcon (where can I get this?) soaked krill and silversides every week
live snail or hermit every other week
herd of astrea and nassasaria snails for cleaning (replaced when needed)

tankmates
yellow polyps and softys
cheato
any hitchhiking crabs I get
maybe pepermint shrimp (kept inside smaller container, most likely not tho)

is this an okay tank for a smithii? or any mantis?

I remember when I started SW in 7th grade. Had to save up so much money... That should be good but I dunno how much youll see it n a 29g tank, Ive never kept a smithii.

Here's some information on a Smithii

You could probably partition off the sump and give the mantis half the sump. That's how my mantis tank is set up,

I am thinking about maybe doing one of the more common mantis like a peacock or an N. wennerae. what do you think? I really would like to have a mantis tank and the sectioned off idea sound like a good one, only thing is that I have decided on a baffless fuge as the only other equipment will be a HOB super skimmer and a heater.
