Fuge lighting

I just replaced my 6500k curley bulb with the coralife mini compact 50/50 light bulb and the coralife does not seem as bright as the sylvinia bulb. The coralife bulb says 50% 10,000k daylight and 50% actinic. Is this bulb better then the 6500k bulb? TIA

It is a different color. Not really better or worse, but 6500k bulbs generally provide more par and usable light than the higher kelvin bulbs.

I've been running 10,000k 50/50 PC on my fuge for a while and noticed that my chaeto hasn't been growing as well as it did with my cheapie 6500k bulb from Walmart fish dept. I just switched back so hopefully I'll see a difference.

hmmmm maybe I will move back to the 6500k

6500k is closest to the suns color. It just doesn't make stuff look as pretty, but with macro who cares. You just want it to grow, not look pretty.

IMO,The fuge should be run on daytime bulbs to provide you with the best growth

I had the same result as those who were using the 6500. My macro was exploding and I was using el cheapo.
