fuge lights

In a word; Wow!

In a word; Wow!

Soulja221, you are seriously using 300 watts of lighting in your fuge? That is 3 times more energy than it takes me to run my entire 55 gallon reef tank! I really do think that you should look into the bulb that Melev recommends (the 19 watter mentioned in the first post). It stands to save you 281 watts which is 207 kWH per month. I pay $0.10 per kWH here in FL so that is $20.51 per month you can save just in your fuge! Now the lowest rate in the nation is Kentucky who pays about $0.06 per kWH (cheap coal) but this is still $12.41 a month in savings.

How about a voltage converter? State-side they are $20 and would allow you to run Melev's bulb on your 220V/50Hz juice. I know its not ideal but it is at least an option.

Alternatively you could search for any 5100K PC bulb that runs on 220/50 which admitedly might be quite difficult but there should be some out there.
