Well i have a 20G reef tank and was wondering if there was any way i could have a fuge that isnt HOB and without having to drill any holes in the tank.

That would be basically imnpossible.. you would have to run it off of 2 pumps, an intake and outtake of the same gph rating or itll overflow.. your only choice is hob or drilling because those are way more reliable

All you need to get is a hang on overflow box. They will run you about $75 for one that is rated for that size tank.

That is very possible. Trust me, I have done it myself. I have a 10 gallon fuge under my 29 gallon reef. Just buy a siphon overflow box and a pump that is strong enough to return the water back to the tank.

Alright i didnt know about them. I have a spare 10 gallon and i was trying to find an easy way to make a fuge so thanks guys

ok i have a 20 with a 10 ga fuge and i just use a CPR overflow rated to 300GPH and a mad 3 for a return...of course i have a ballvalve on the return tube cuz 300GPH is a lot of flow

an in-tank fuge (which I am in the process of making):

Basically a rectangular box put in the back of the tank. Here is waht it consists of starting from the right to left in the direction of flow:

Holes on the top part for water to enter the fuge.
Water flows into the main compartment which sonsists of live sand, macroalgae, and carbon.
Then, water flows through a wall with holes in it to the intake of the pump.
Then the pump pushes the water out of the fuge.

And here is waht it should look like from the side:
