Full Blown Ick

I have a 300 gal, with a ton of fish and snails, and a small amount of corals.

I have a full blown case of Ick. It got worst when I turned off the Ozone for a couple of days. The fishs are cover from Head to toe with ick, however, there is no sign of rapid breathing or distress or scratching against the rocks.

What can I do? I was thinking hypo, but I will lose all my inverts (a good amount of $$$) and pods, and the tank may cycle. That is the main problem because I can't catch 600 snails out of the tank and whatnot. I also cannot catch the fishs out without breaking down the tank. It would almost be impossible to set up a QT tank for all the fish that I have.

UV sterilizer should take care of it within a week. If you run it at it's lowest recommended gph. and also don't add anything else to the tank for 3 months so that all the little icks that make it to the sand bed die off.

New fish are generally stressed fish and makes them more susceptible. (sp)

After the fish have been ick free for 3 months you can consider it gone from the tank.

JMO but I have been there and done that.

I actually let the fishs alone for a week and it seem to have gotten better, but if it is because of the life cycle, they just fell off.

One yellow tang has both eyes cloudy. The regals are infested.
I may just hypo the tank and kill the inverts.

I would not recommend you do this. You will very likely kill so much other life in your tank that the ammonia generated will kill all the fishes as well.

You may want to attempt Exodin and feeding food with Focus to bind Metronidazole/Garlic, and hopefully fish immune system can fight it off - however, if possible, you should remove them to qt.

Will sticking two UV and having them work with the Ozone help a bit?

The regals are eating as if nothing has occured. Only one lost may happen by the end of the day.

I am going to head out to the LFS and see if I can find Metronidazole. I am currently feeding Spectrum Anti Parasitic medication, which contains Copper Sulfate, soaked in Garlic, Selcon, and additional vitamins.

Would the cause of the extreme outbreak occur because I turned off the ozone?

Its getting worst.

My indo regal stopped eating and seems really sick.
The red sea regals are having cloudy eyes.
The purple tangs are cover in ick.

You need to go buy a large qt tank and get them out of your main and treat them..if you sit and do nothing they will all die
